In 2010, a plaque was discovered in a pavilion in the city of Lleida that was named after Agnès Gregori (July 10, 1910 - November 7, 2007). For the first time in the Lleida capital, and also one of the first anywhere in Catalonia, a public sports center was named female and many people wondered who this woman was.
Agnès Gregori was an outstanding athlete and pioneer of women's sport from Lleida and Catalonia. Coming from a family on Carrer La Palma, Agnès experienced first-hand the cultural transformation brought about by the Second Republic and, in particular, the fact that women were incorporated into all social spheres, even the 'sportive, a boom that truncated the outbreak of the civil war.
