Jaume Llaverola made his debut in the highest state category of roller hockey, then called the Division of Honor, in 1993 when he was eighteen years old. This year, at forty-seven, he is still active as the starting goalkeeper of Girona CH, accumulating thirty-one uninterrupted seasons in the elite where he has played in seven different teams. It goes without saying that he is the most veteran player in the league and in all state professional competitions, in their various disciplines.
I guess he will argue that age is just a number.
And every year I get older I think about it more firmly. It is true that time passes and the physical appearance is not the same as when you are twenty, but it is also true that you make up for it with seniority, with knowing how to be, with things that you don't have when you are young. Then it's just a matter of knowing what to do at every moment, but above all to do what you love excitement and passion, like I do with hockey. It's clear that the day I don't have this, the physical doesn't accompany me or sees that I'm making a fool of myself, I'll stay home.
