I look back on the trajectory of Uni Girona's history, and more specifically on the experience in the Women's League, I find that the great incentive that the organization has had been growing while achieving so many things, to feel the taste of the first time in many times.
First was the creation of the club, at a time when in Santa Eugènia there was a very good group of players, who had already achieved the pleasure of being in a state championship for the grassroots categories for the first time. Faced with that situation, it was necessary to find an attractive exit for the aforementioned players, but above all to also leave the way ready for those who could come behind.
With the complicity and sum of various clubs in the city, CE Santa Eugènia and Vedruna joined, which were two of the teams working on women's basketball in Girona. It was an innovative, even groundbreaking, fact, in a city and basketball space where the clubs are hermetic in themselves. This was a pioneer and made it possible to break down, reluctance and generate complicity for the first time and allow, also for the first time, the name of Girona to be truly used in state-based elite basketball.
