I believe that the first thing to do is recognize what Girona has today. For this reason, being able to read in these same pages, the opinions of characters from outside the demarcation, but very important in the world of sports, such as Vicente del Bosque or Pablo Laso, helps all of us to realize how privileged the city and the province are. Not only for the best known of the Costa Brava, perhaps also and now more than ever for our sport. And I speak in the first person, because as I have already said many times, I feel like another Gironí, since the day I arrived here.
As for soccer, I have the reference of what happened in my native Soria, a city, even smaller than Girona and with fewer possibilities than here. Despite this, soccer was in the elite for twenty years, just as volleyball has long been a benchmark team at the national level. Now, as is already known, Numancia is not among the greats and that is when people miss it and when they value much more what they had at the time.
