I couldn't say my name and used my sister's, because the school league was meant for older girls. I only picked up half a piece of dirt, but I had the drive, drive and determination to chase and kick a ball. I was the only girl in my class who played football in the school yard, and it was quite a milestone to have gathered seven or eight other girls to make a team. They were four and five years older than me, and only one had played futsal before. We had a friend who had done a year of basketball and another who ran a lot. The rest barely had a sports base. In one of the matches we met a small and agile girl who immediately caught our attention. It was easy to see who had special athletic talent at that time. His parents and mine quickly identified each other and started chatting. "Did you know that Barça has a women's team?", they commented. At home we didn't know anything about it, or the existence of any other Barça other than Cruyff's, or other teams with girls playing football.
